Tutorials

1. Install and activate the plugin

  1. Check WordPress 6.6+ and PHP 8.1+.
  2. Install and activate PLUGINFILES UPDATER 0.9.0 or higher.
  3. Download the ZIP from Plugin and upload it in Plugins → Add new → Upload plugin.
  4. Activate WPAIMEDIA and open Media → WPAIMEDIA.

  3. Check the requirements in Information.

2. Organize with virtual folders

  1. Create a folder with a useful name for your project.
  2. Select one or more media.
  3. Choose the destination and press Move, or drag a file to a folder.
  4. Use Search to locate it again. The movement retains its URL.

3. Describe your images

Open a media and review title, alt text, legend, and description. Write what the image contributes to the content, without accumulating keywords. Save the SEO and check how the file is used on the page.

  1. Open the image you want to describe.
  2. Complete title, alternative text, legend and description.
  3. Save and review the result.

4. Create WebP or AVIF variants

  1. Check that the server editor supports the format.
  2. Open an image and choose Create WebP or Create AVIF.
  3. Review the variant created as a new attachment.
  4. Insert it into the content where you want to use it; the original is still available.

5. Languages, settings and configuration JSON

In Settings → WPAIMEDIA choose the language of the plugin without changing the general language of WordPress. Save the options and use Export Settings to get a JSON. When you import it, the format, size and fields are validated; no keys, AI consent, or automatic installation authorizations are transferred.

  1. Open Settings → WPAIMEDIA.
  2. Choose the language and save the settings.
  3. Export a JSON and check its reimport.

6. Migration, AI and storage

Importing RML and Sigma works in batches with folders and assignments. Keep the original tables until you verify the result. AI is optional: requires server key, authorization, and manual review of your proposals. S3 copy requires your own credentials and does not automatically replace your media URLs.

7. Updates and maintenance

Configure the signed source of the updater, review history, and keep backups before installing new versions.
